Post the first, and notes on layout

This blog has initially been created as part of the requirements for a postgraduate course in Informattion Studies at Charles Sturt University. The following three posts are part of the requirement for the course (a review of three articles). Following that are my own posts on all matters pertaining to the world of libraries in the digital age.

Work done on layout includes...
  • copy and paste from Word but then removing formatting (except for footnotes). Word formatting tends to override and CSS formatting usually to the detriment of the final appearance.
  • cheerful adoption of footnote linking that resulted from the copy and paste above
  • Using bullet points to try to improve the layout or clarity of the Reference section
  • insertion of graphical elements used in the Word reviews, as well as addition of other relevant pictures
  • Right justifying pictures to allow text flow
  • Adding captions to pictures
  • Insertion of a YouTube video
  • limited HTML editing to add horizontal rules above the References section
  • modification of the CSS Template including adjusting colours, fonts and background picture
  • modification of the layout including link box for my other blogs, tag cloud and a search box
  • Blogger has a known problem with incorrectly stripping out too many <br/> (paragraph break) tags, and after several efforts one blog had to have paragraph spacing inserted via the addition of a fullstop... not pretty but unfortunatley the only solution at this point. The full stops don't appear unless you look for them as they have been coloured to match the background.
